My name is Jim Kenicky, and I was born and grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. I graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, and am a 1992 graduate of Drexel University where I received a BS in Operations Management, a minor in Music and was a member of the Varsity Swim Team.

I am the owner of Fairmount Pet Service, a provider of professional pet care services including dog walking, pet sitting, cat boarding, and pet portraits. As a child, I grew up with two dogs (Taffy & Charley), one rabbit (Floppy) and a hamster (can’t remember his name). As a result, I grew into being an animal lover and currently own two cats (Charlie and Squeeks). After 12 years in the corporate world, I decided to do something with more relevance to my “likes”, and started walking dogs in August of 2008, while also starting a Freelance Photography business. Fairmount Pet Service is my primary line of work, with outdoor photography supplementing my income. But both activities allow me to spend time outside, which is so much better for the soul than the sterile environment of a corporate office.

Through Pet Sitters Associates, LLC I have a dog walker and pet sitter bond and insurance. I am also Dog and Cat CPR & First Aid Certified from the American Red Cross. Consequently, you can be assured that a professional is caring for your much-loved pets. I understand the apprehension that pet and homeowners face when trusting someone to provide care for their pets while away from home, and allowing someone to enter their home. You can be completely confident with your choice in me, and I can provide you with references from my current clients regarding my services and integrity. I will take care of your pets as if they were my own. I am available for emergency visits or when you get stuck at work (or in traffic) or make last minute travel plans. I will care for your pet(s) with any and all instructions that you specify, will respect your privacy, and will keep your home as you left it.

If you need a pet sitter, I will make certain your pets stay safe, happy and contented while you are away. This is the preference if you want your pet to stay where they feel comfortable and secure with familiar sights, sounds, and smells so they can relax and maintain their daily schedule. For more in depth care, I also offer cat boarding, where your cat(s) will stay at my place, and consequently get 24/7 attention from both my two cats and myself. Dog boarding is also available if your dog is either small, or cat-friendly.
